Improvisational Piecing

Allowing yourself to put aside the traditional rules, this workshop will teach you how to piece a quilt top without a pattern, matching no points and just following your heart.  A variety of construction options will be presented encouraging students to approach any composition with more tools and confidence to achieve the desired visual goal.  Basic design elements are emphasized and the method is taught in a supportive environment.  Students are encouraged to discover their personal design inspiration and will begin to find their own design voice.  Sessions are dynamic and include presentations on design, inspiration and using technology as an art tool.  Students will walk away with a free form method of piecing a quilt top and the confidence to continue to a finished product.
